LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne will bring back team veteran David Lighty, Aris Barkas of Eurohoops reports. The American will stay with the French LNB Pro A League champions for three more years.
Olympiacos Piraeus have shown interest in bringing in Lighty from ASVEL. However, the two teams were not able to reach an agreement.
The 33-year-old first joined ASVEL in 2014 and played there for two seasons. After a year with Dolomiti Energia Trentino and Banco di Sardegna Sassari, Lighty returned to ASVEL in 2017 and has played there ever since.
Lighty can play in both shooting guard and small forward positions. He is the MVP of last season's French League finals, where ASVEL beat JDA Dijon.
In 33 EuroLeague games, Lighty averaged 11.3 points, 2.8 rebounds, 2.1 assists, and 10.7 EFF over 25.3 minutes last season.
In the French League, he accumulated 8.9 points, 1.8 rebounds, 1.7 assists, and 8.0 EFF over 22 minutes.
