Wembanyama puts up a double-double, France crush Argentina

Victor Wembanyama put a solid double-double and led France (2-1) to the second victory in of FIBA U19 Basketball World Cup.

Frenchmen 89-52 (16-9, 24-11, 19-23, 30-9) beat Argentina (2-1) in Group C matchup, ending up in first place, despite Argentina and Spain also getting two wins after three games played.

France finished first, Spain - second, Argentina - third, and South Korea - fourth. All four teams qualified for Round of 16.

In 22 minutes played, Wembanyama scored 10 points (3/9 2PT, 0/1 3PT, 4/5 FT), got 12 rebounds, 3 blocks, 2 steals, and a game-high 19 PIR.

France took control in the second quarter. Armel Traore made a driving layup, Brice Dessert scored a basket in the paint, Jayson Tchicamboud knocked both of his free throws, and France made a 12-0 lead and gained a 19 point lead - 32-12.

Europeans continued their dominant performance in the second half, and at the end of the game, teams were separated by 37 points (89-52).

Argentina made only two 3-point shots out of 16 (12%), while France - 12 out 34 (35%).
