JaVale McGee, Keldon Johnson added to Team USA roster

Sams Charania of The Athletic reports that JaVale McGee has been selected to join the 12-man Team USA for the Tokyo Olympics.

Meanwhile, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN confirmed that Keldon Johnson has also been added to the roster.

The Americans were facing a serious shortage of active players after Bradley Beal and Kevin Love dropped out, while Jerami Grant is inactive due to health and safety protocols.

McGee (33, 2.13) spent the past season between the Cleveland Cavalier and the Denver Nuggets. The veteran center appeared in 46 regular-season games and contributed with 7.3 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 1.2 blocks in 14.7 minutes of action.

21-year-old (1.96) Johnson emerged with the San Antonio Spurs last season. The small forward appeared in 69 games (67 starts) and averaged 12.8 points and 6 rebounds in 28.5 minutes of playing time. San Antonio's coach Gregg Popovich is also the head coach of the Team USA.
