A 22% rise in the league's popularity and a 75% growth of live TV audiences were uncovered in research conducted by Nielsen Sports.

Europe's top club basketball competition has demonstrated steady growth across all major marketing components, despite ongoing pandemic issues.

The study has compiled data from the previous three seasons and discovered that both the regular season and the Final Four live TV ratings grew by 75% and 68% respectively. Among the most notable growing TV markets were Italy (+371%), Israel (+227%), and Spain (+195%).

EuroLeague's presence on social media hasn't gone unnoticed either. According to the research, the number of followers grew by 15%, while engagement (+70%), views (+46%), reach (+29%), and impressions (+18%) increased as well over the last three years.

Among the fans who were most eager to return to arenas for live basketball action, Russians showed the most anticipation (85%) followed by Turkish (81%), Serbians (79%), and Spanish (79%).

In 2019 EuroLeague held its marquee event, the Final Four, in Vitoria-Gasteiz, Spain. A year later EuroLeague's season along with the Final Four tournament was canceled due to COVID-19. Last season the Final Four was organized in Cologne, Germany. Anadolu Efes Istanbul won their first title by defeating FC Barcelona in the final.
