According to a report from Piero Guerrini of Tuttosport, there's a chance that Milwaukee Bucks guard Donte DiVincenzo might play for the Italian national team.

The Italian basketball federation has been working for the past year and a half to help DiVincenzo get the Italian passport. Covid-19 has slowed down the procedures but there's still hope that he might receive the necessary documentation by the end of the year.

The situation is different, though, for the rising star Paolo Banchero. The Duke alum is unlikely to suit up for the Italian NT before the 2023 World Cup, which will take place in Japan and Philippines. His duties with Duke University have already forced him out of the Olympic action and, as a projected top-5 pick in the 2022 NBA Draft, his presence at EuroBasket 2022 is highly unlikely.

According to FIBA rules, Banchero and DiVincenzo cannot play together for the Italian NT. Both players are in fact considered as "passported" guys and FIBA allows only one player with that kind of status. Banchero has already received the Italian passport, so he's 'fully' Italian according to the national laws, but when it comes to basketball, that's a different discussion.
