The Houston Rockets announced the signing of the 23rd pick in this year's NBA Draft, Usman Garuba.
Garuba started playing for Real Madrid when he was 16 years old. He spent three seasons with the Spanish team, winning the ACB Best Young Player award and being recognized as the EuroLeague Rising Star.
The 2.03 big man averaged 3.9 points (27% 3PT), 4.0 rebounds, and 6.1 PIR over 16.3 minutes in the EuroLeague last season.

Garuba represented Spain in the Tokyo Olympics this summer. He appeared in four games and contributed 1.0 points and 2.8 rebounds over 11 minutes.
Spain's Olympic run postponed Garuba's arrival in Las Vegas, where he only recently joined the Rockets for the NBA Summer League. The 19-year-old appeared in two games, where he averaged 2.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 1.0 assists over 14.6 minutes.
