As reported by Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, the Portland Trail Blazers have agreed to a training camp deal with free-agent point guard Dennis Smith Jr. Portland has 13 guaranteed contracts for the upcoming season so, if he plays well during the training camp, Smith has a chance to make the roster for the season.

The point guard, drafted by the Dallas Mavericks in the 2017 NBA Draft, began last season with the New York Knicks but then he was traded to the Detroit Pistons in exchange for Derrick Rose. With Detroit, Smith averaged 7.3 points, 3.7 assists, and 2.7 rebounds per game, while shooting 35% from three-point.
