The captain of FC Barcelona, Pierre Oriola, discussed the possibility of Pau Gasol's return to the Catalan club and expressed his wish to see Gasol come back.
"I have not spoken to Pau since playing with him on the National Team," Oriola said during the presentation of the ACB Liga Endesa. "I guess he will take a vacation and enjoy his family. Basketball is good, but in the end, the important thing is family. He also has a little girl. When Pau thinks he would like to come back, as the team captain, I would like to see him return and help us, just like he did last year."
Oriola talked about Gasol's impact on the team, even if he isn't as dominant on the floor as in previous years.

"Having Pau by your side obviously has an effect. We are talking about the best player in the history of our country and one of the all-time best players in Europe, an NBA All-Star. If that doesn't seem like enough to have him by your side... It's very tough, and obviously, the last three months were not easy for me last season because he had more visibility than me. But in the end, this is a sport, and I will continue to work to have the opportunity to help our team."
In April, Pau Gasol returned to action with Barcelona, helping the team get to the EuroLeague final and raise the Liga ACB title.
Along with his brother Marc, Pau recently retired from the Spanish NT. He is yet to make a decision about potentially continuing his career with Barcelona.
