Reggio Emilia started the game well and led by seven after the first period (24-17), but Milan turned it around in the second, going on an 18-5 run to gain an eight-point advantage (45-37).

The visitors cut their deficit to a single point at the end of the third quarter (61-62), but Milan's late 14-3 spurt helped them secure a 10-point advantage with just over two minutes remaining in the game. They were able to hold on to it, winning by 10.
