EuroLeague return incoming: Janis Timma is expected to land in Russia

Janis Timma is expected to return to the EuroLeague. Per BasketNews sources, A 29-year-old Latvian sharpshooter is close to joining UNICS Kazan.

Both sides are finalizing a short-term deal, sources say BasketNews.

UNICS will be the third Russian team in Timma‘s career. Previously he wore Zenit St. Petersburg (2015-17) and Khimki Moscow Region (2019-21) jerseys.

Between these two experiences, he also represented Baskonia Vitoria and Olympiacos Piraeus.

Last season, Timma averaged 7.2 points and 2.8 rebounds in 16 EuroLeague games with Khimki.

He also appeared in NBA Summer League 2021, where he averaged 7 points and 3.4 rebounds for the Orlando Magic.

UNICS (6-1) are currently at the top of the VTB League and stand 11th in the EuroLeague (4-5).
