Zalgiris Kaunas are preparing changes to their coaching staff. According to a 15min.lt journalist Rokas Pakenas, the Lithuanian club has partnered with Evaldas Berzininkaitis, who had left the club during the last offseason, for an assistant coach's position.

The 37-year-old specialist is going to replace the other two assistant coaches Arne Woltmann and Stefan Grassegger. It is believed, per the report, that the Friday away match against FC Barcelona will be the last one for both specialists.

Berzininkaitis, who had previously worked as a scout and later was promoted to an assistant coach, will join the Zalgiris staff after the Lithuanian national team match against the Czech Republic.

Tautvydas Sabonis, the last remaining assistant coach, currently working alongside head coach Jure Zdovc, is staying in his position at the club. Zalgiris is also looking to strengthen their scouting department as the coach-scout position now remains empty.

Berzininkaitis has won 8 national league titles with Zalgiris throughout his tenure with the Lithuanian powerhouse. After a successful double week, the team is traveling to Barcelona to face its former coach Sarunas Jasikevicius and the league leaders Barcelona on Friday.
