Cedevita Olimpija Ljubljana have bolstered their backcourt line with Zoran Dragic, per the official announcement. The Slovenian athlete signed a deal until the end of the 2021-22 season.
"I am happy to join Cedevita Olimpija," Dragic said. "It is a great team and, I believe, I will be able to help with my experience and knowledge. My goal is to help the club to break through among the top eight EuroCup teams and reach the semifinals of the Adriatic League. To be completely honest, my ambitions are high and I want to win every game."
The 32-year-old spent time with Zalgiris Kaunas this season. However, on New Year's eve, he was cut on mutual agreement.
The experienced swingman had joined the Lithuanian powerhouse on the last day of October 2021. He played in 9 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague games, averaging 3.9 points and 1.2 rebounds for 2.1 PIR.
Dragic also participated in 4 Lithuanian Basketball League matches, scoring 6.3 points and grabbing 1.2 rebounds per game.
"We are glad that Zoran has decided to return to Slovenia, and that we have another Slovenian player in Cedevita Olimpija. This is very important for Slovenian basketball," told head coach Jurica Golemac.
In his career, Zoran Dragic played for such teams as Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz, Anadolu Efes Istanbul, AX Armani Exchange Milan, Khimki Moscow Region, Miami Heat, Phoenix Suns, or Unicaja Malaga.
Cedevita Olimpija Ljubljana are currently in the seventh position of EuroCup Group B, having 3 wins and 5 defeats.
