EuroLeague fines Ataman for his shenanigans after ejection in Barcelona

Euroleague Basketball has announced the following disciplinary sanction pertaining to incidents that occurred in Rounds 20 and 21 of the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague regular season.

As usual, Panathinaikos OPAP Athens have been sanctioned for inappropriate fans' behavior. Meanwhile, Anadolu Efes Istanbul head coach Ergin Ataman was fined for his actions in the game against Barcelona.

Per official release:

  • PANATHINAIKOS OPAP ATHENS has been sanctioned with a fine of €6,000 for the throwing of objects onto the playing court on occasion of its home game against CSKA Moscow under Article 29.2.h) of the Euroleague Basketball Disciplinary Code.
  • Mr. ERGIN ATAMAN, Head Coach of ANADOLU EFES ISTANBUL has been sanctioned with a fine of €15,000 for conduct committing acts representing a lack of respect on the occasion of its home game against FC Barcelona under Article 27.2.b) of the Euroleague Basketball Disciplinary Code.
