German trade: Dennis Schroder and Daniel Theis swap teams

The Boston Celtics continue making moves before the NBA trade deadline concludes.

Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports that the Celtics are sending Dennis Schroder, Enes Freedom, and Bruno Fernando to the Houston Rockets. In exchange, the Celtics will receive the German big man Daniel Theis.

Schroder joined the Celtics during the offseason after playing for the Los Angeles Lakers last year. He averaged 14.4 points (34.9% 3PT), 4.2 assists, and 3.3 rebounds over 49 games this season.

Enes Freedom has averaged 3.7 points and 4.6 rebounds over 11.2 minutes for Boston this year. His teammate Bruno Fernando accumulated 1.0 points and 0.8 rebounds over 20 contests.

Daniel Theis is returning to the Celtics, having played there from 2017 to 2021. He has averaged 8.4 points and 5.0 rebounds over 22 minutes for the Rockets.

The Celtics have also traded Josh Richardson and a first round protected pick to the San Antonio Spurs for Derrick White earlier today. In addition, they sent injured players Bol Bol and P.J. Dozier to the Orlando Magic
