DeAndre Jordan's days at the Los Angeles Lakers have been numbered. After suffering a stunning defeat against the New Orleans Pelicans two days ago, the Lakers intend to waive Jordan and sign a free agent point guard DJ Augustin, according to Shams Charania from The Athletic.

The journeyman center averaged 4.1 points and 5.4 rebounds for the Lakers this season.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski, the Philadelphia 76ers have expressed interest in signing the now-free player. The team plans on either placing a waiver claim on Jordan or working to sign him as a free agent if the player clears waivers.

DJ Augustin, on the other end, started the 2021-2022 NBA season with the Houston Rockets where he averaged 5.4 points, 1.2 rebounds, and 2.2 assists in 34 games for the club.

Los Angeles Lakers have not had the season they'd hoped for this year. After assembling a veteran team with a win-now mentality, the club is barely even in the play-in tournament. The team currently sits 9th in the Western Conference with 27 wins and 33 losses.
