Atlanta Hawks power forward John Collins will be sidelined indefinitely due to multiple injuries, the worst being a plantar fascia tear in his right foot, the team announced Friday.

The tear was confirmed when Collins received a second opinion of a foot injury in New York on Thursday. Tests also confirmed the initial diagnosis of a sprain.

The Hawks said Collins will undergo a non-surgical procedure on the right foot. The team said it will update his situation in 10 to 14 days.

Collins also has a sprained right ring finger. He received an anti-inflammatory shot and was fitted with a custom splint that he will wear for the remainder of the season.

Friday's game against the Memphis Grizzlies marked the fourth in a row that Collins has missed. He last played on March 11 when he scored nine points in only 23 minutes during a 112-106 home win over the Los Angeles Clippers.

Collins, 24, is averaging 16.2 points and 7.8 rebounds in 54 games (53 starts) this season. He has career averages of 16.5 points and 8.3 boards in 293 games (242 starts) over five campaigns.
