Dijon's Carrington and Holston combine for 45 points to sink Monaco

In the French league, JDA Dijon (16-12) defeated EuroLeague side AS Monaco (20-8) with the final score of 96-87 (20-18, 33-24, 22-23, 21-22).

The Monegasques didn‘t want to give up and after Dwayne Bacon‘s pair of free throws and Donte Hall‘s dunk they cut the deficit just to 2 points (78-80). After the timeout, Dijon responded with 10-4 run thanks to Chase Simon and Rashard Kely 3-pointers (90-82) with 3:43 minutes remaining.

Monaco answered with couple of baskets, but Khadeen Carrington poured 4 consecutive points in a row (94-85) and buried Euroleague‘s team hopes to win a game.

Dijon started the game with a good offensive flow and after 9-0 run extended their lead to 9 points (18-9). Mike James and Dwayne Bacons's layups brought back Monaco into the game after the first quarter (18-20).

The second quarter was a really entertaining one, with the two teams trading baskets and creating the right premises for a high-scoring game. The hosts managed to score 33 points during the second quarter and increased their lead to double digit points coming into the halftime (53-42).

The situation didn‘t change in the third period in which Dijon didn‘t let Monaco to get closer and maintained a double digit lead after that (75-65).
