After the defeat in Game 4 of the first-round series against the Toronto Raptors, Joel Embiid returned on the injury he's suffering on his right thumb. The big man started to feel discomfort after Game 3 and the first reports talked about a torn ligament.
Embiid shot only 7 of 16 in Game 4 and admitted that the injury is painful, especially considering it involves his shooting hand.
"It's painful", Embiid confessed after the game. "In basketball, you need to use your hand a lot so it's not an ideal situation".
The player will have an MRI today in Philadelphia to establish the exact status of his injury and will move from there.
"I mean, I want to play", Embiid explained. "Obviously I have to listen to what the doctors got to say, so I'd imagine keeping playing and probably do something after the season".
The Sixers are leading the series against the Raptors 3-1 and now will return to Philadelphia for Game 5.
