In the German BBL, Hamburg Towers (18-13) forced Bayern Munich (22-8) to their eighth loss in the domestic league after beating coach Andrea Trinchieri's side with the final score of 87-83 (24-13, 17-25, 25-29, 21-16).

Bayern started the game poorly and finished the first period down by 11 points but reacted promptly in the second quarter, reducing Hamburg's lead to just three points at the half.

In the final quarter, though, Bayern couldn't contain Hamburg Towers' offensive flow and struggled to generate enough offense to win the game.
