According to New York Daily News reporter Tim Bondy, Netflix is working on a documentary about the case of Tim Donaghy, a former NBA referee who was sentenced to 15 months in prison for betting on games he had refereed.

Donaghy would be involved in the film, according to Bondy. The referee had retired from the NBA in 2007 and shortly after several reports emerged about the fact that he had bet on games and tried to control the point spread during several games with his calls.

In June of 2008, Donaghy's attorney had filed a court document alleging that Game 6 of the 2002 Western Conference Finals between Los Angeles Lakers and Sacramento Kings had been fixed by two referees.

Donaghy claimed that in order to increase television ratings and ticket sales, top NBA executives sought to manipulate games using referees. After Donaghy's accusations, though, no evidence against the NBA was found during the trial.
