After getting eliminated in a tough battle against Olympiacos in the EuroLeague playoffs, for the French side Monaco is now time to start planning for next season too. The French Riviera club wants to raise the bar even higher next season, trying to reach once again the playoffs and then fighting for a spot in the Final Four.

In order to do so, the transfer campaign this summer is gonna be a busy one for Monaco. Among the targets, there's the idea of adding a big man who can improve even more the quality of the frontcourt.

American big man John Brown is one of the hottest names that the French club is considering, sources told BasketNews and Moses Barda of One. After parting ways with Russian club UNICS Kazan, Brown signed a deal until the end of the season in Italy with Germani Brescia. In the only 2 games played so far, he averaged 9 points and 4 rebounds per game.

But with strong interest coming from several EuroLeague clubs, Brescia knows that it's gonna be almost impossible to keep Brown beyond this season. Another team that is following with a lot of attention John Brown's case is Barcelona.

The Spanish side might lose at least a couple of important pieces in the frontcourt, with Brandon Davies, Rolands Smits, and Nigel Hayes-Davis all on expiring deals. Especially if Brandon Davies will decide to not extend his contract with Barcelona, the Spanish side believes that John Brown could be a very good addition to coach Sarunas Jasikevicius's system.

For Monaco, John Brown III could become a statement in their path to the elite of European basketball. Donta Hall, who signed a one-year deal last summer, he's being courted by at least a couple of NBA teams, sources told BasketNews, while veteran Will Thomas, who's gonna be 36 in July, is not expected to continue beyond this season in France, another source told BasketNews.

The French side will also try to extend the contract of Alpha Diallo, who quickly became one of the most interesting rookie players in the EuroLeague. Despite the rumors, though, no agreement has been reached yet, multiple sources told BasketNews.
