Jaka Blazic is heading to Turkey

The captain of Cedevita Olimpija Ljubljana Jaka Blazic is set to join Bahcesehir Koleji Istanbul, sources tell BasketNews.

He played his last match for Cedevita Olimpija on Tuesday. Cedevita Olimpija swept Helios Suns in the Slovenian league finals 3-0 behind Blazic's 17-point performance in Game 3.

Martin Pavčnik of Sport Klub was the first to report about Blazic being on his way to Turkey.

A 31-year-old swingman has played in Ljubljana since 2019.

Blazic made the All-EuroCup second team for the second straight year this season.

He averaged 15.4 points (3FG: 40.4%), 4.8 rebounds, 3.6 assists, and 17 PIR per game in EuroCup.

Blazic scored at least 10 points in 18 of 19 EuroCup games.

He ranked 12th in the competition in PIR and 9th in scoring and three-pointers made (2.3 per game).

In the Adriatic league, 1.96 m Slovenian averaged 14.1 points, 4.9 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 15.2 PIR.

Previously, Blazic played for such clubs as Barcelona, MoraBanc Andorra, Baskonia Vitoria, and Crvena Zvezda Belgrade.

Bahcesehir reached the Turkish League quarterfinals this year and lifted the FIBA Europe Cup trophy.
