The path for Andrew Wiggins in the NBA has been with many difficulties. He entered as number 1 in the 2014 Draft, but that added more pressure to his career, especially when he failed to make much of an impact than expected in his first years in Minnesota Timberwolves.

Eight years after joining the NBA, his name sounds very strong in the league after his great performance in Game 5 in San Francisco where his Golden State Warriors played against Boston Celtics. His team got third victory in the Finals and now are much closer to the ring.

"I'm excited. It’s the opportunity of a lifetime, something I’ve worked hard for, this whole team worked hard for. So I’m excited, I can’t wait,” commented Wiggins to the media after the game.

The former No.1 pick finished Game 5 with 26 points and 13 rebounds after amassing 17 points and 16 rebounds in Game 4.

But Andrew isn't the first Wiggins to shine in the Finals. 36 years earlier, his father, Mitchell, played for Houston Rockets and had made his mark after winning Game 5 of the Finals with a strong performance.

The father had a much less significant role than his son in the Warriors. Mitchell was a rotation player, one of those who always came out as a reserve. In fact, in Game 5 of the 1986 Finals, he came off the bench to score 16 points and grab seven rebounds. But above all, pushed his team to victory. And the opponent coincidentally was the same as that of his son, the Boston Celtics.

But the greens, led by Larry Bird, won the sixth game and with it the Finals (4-2), so Andrew's father could not celebrate the title. Now, 36 years later, another Wiggins, is much closer to bringing the first championship ring to the family. And he would do it for both him, and his dad.
