Ex-Partizan player Eric Mika enters USA 12-man roster for FIBA window

USA Basketball has released its 12-man roster for the squad's upcoming two games against Cuba and Puerto Rico in the third window of the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 Americas Qualifiers.

Team USA will travel on the road to face Puerto Rico on July 1 and Cuba on July 4. The team has already qualified for the Second Round.

The 12 athletes slated to compete for the USA have years of professional experience in the NBA, NBA G League, and professional international leagues. Each has also previously played with USA Basketball on either a national team or junior national team capacity dating back to 2009.

The World Cup Qualifying Team includes Jordan Bell, Quinn Cook, Cody Demps, Michael Frazier, Langston Galloway, Justin Jackson, DaQuan Jeffries, John Jenkins, George King, Eric Mika, David Stockton, and Noah Vonleh.

Returning from the February 2022 USA Basketball Men's World Cup Qualifying Team are Bell, Galloway, King, and Stockton.

Demps and Mika will return to the USA Basketball competition after playing with one another as members of the February 2020 USA Basketball Men's AmeriCup Qualifying Team. The 27-year-old big man Eric Mika represented Partizan Belgrade in the 2020-21 season and averaged 6.3 points and 3.7 rebounds over 12 EuroCup games.

This past campaign he also spent in Europe, with JL Bourg. In 4 EuroCup duels, Mika registered 10.8 points, 5.5 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 15.3 PIR.

Jim Boylen will again be at the helm for the USA, after leading the team in November 2021 and February 2022.
