Peristeri make their first signing in the Vassilis Spanoulis era

Just one day after Vassilis Spanoulis officially assumed head coaching duties at  Peristeri BC, the Greek team announced their first signing.

The BCL side reached a one-year deal with Miro Bilan. The Croatian center will bolster the team's frontcourt, adding size and experience.

33-year-old Bilan played last year with Prometey in Ukraine and after the Russian invasion of Ukraine, he moved to Italy to re-join Sassari.

Bilan started his career from Cedevita in his native Croatia, in 2011, where he remained until the 2016-2017 season. The following year (2017-2018) he transferred for Strasbourg with which he played in 52 games, averaging 12.2 points, 5.9 rebounds and 1.8 assists.

A year later (2018-2019) he played for LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne in a total of 63 games across the French League, Cup and the Eurocup, averaging 11.1 points, 6.0 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game.

He then moved to Sassari where he played two seasons (2019-2021), registering 16.1 points, 7.6 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game in his last campaign.

Last season, he recorded 12.1 points, 7.1 rebounds and 1.5 assists on average over 53 contests with Prometey. Bilan also holds the BCL record for most points scored in a single game in the 2021-22 campaign, putting up 38 against Ostend.

He has played in 29 games with the Croatian national team, averaging 6.5 points and 4.2 rebounds per game in 16 minutes.
