Danilo Gallinari prefers to join Boston Celtics

Once the San Antonio Spurs finalize the expected release on forward Danilo Gallinari, his preference is to join the Boston Celtics upon clearing waivers, via ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

The San Antonio franchise acquired Gallinari in Wednesday's trade with the Atlanta Hawks centered on Dejounte Murray.

Last season, the 33-year-old Italian averaged 11.7 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 1.5 assists over 66 regular-season games for the Hawks.
