Montenegro gives France its first loss in nail-biting thriller

Montenegro (3-2) prevailed over France (4-1) 70-69 (15-15, 18-16, 23-17, 14-21) in a tough Group E fight to give France its first loss of the FIBA World Cup 2023 European Qualifiers.

Elie Okobo missed a last-second 3-point attempt, which could have been a game-winner.

The last points of the game were Nemanja Radovic's 2-point jump shot with 31 seconds to go in the fourth quarter.

Montenegro had a lead for most of the game, however, France managed to make a comeback during the fourth quarter but did not manage to finish the job.

France made a run at the start of the fourth quarter led by Elie Okobo and Theo Maledon. Maledon tied the game (56-56) with 7:06 left in the quarter.

Montenegro was led to the victory by Nemanja Radovic who collected 15 points (6/6 2PT, 1/3 3PT, 0/0 FT), 3 rebounds, and 1 assist.

For France, Vincent Poirier reorded 18 points (6/13 2PT, 0/0 3PT, 6/8 FT), 12 rebounds, and 1 assist.
