Czech Republic and Tomas Satoransky deliver Lithuania its first loss

Czech Republic (3-3) has beaten Lithuania (5-1) 83-72 (23-13, 22-19, 16-20, 22-20) with a strong effort in the first and fourth quarters of the FIBA World Cup 2023 European Qualifiers game and gave Lithuania its first loss in the F group.

Czech Republic had a strong finish to the third quarter and gained a crucial 9-point lead before the last quarter (61-52) after Patrik Auda's last-second layup in the quarter.

Lithuania did not manage to get any closer for most of the last quarter, and behind Tomas Kyzlink and Tomas Satoransky's efforts the Czech Republic closed out the game without much trouble.

Lithuania started the third quarter with a 10-0 run to close the gap to three points (45-42) after Ignas Brazdeikis' 3-pointer with 6:27 left in the quarter.

Czech Republic started the first quarter strongly and managed to build a 10-point lead in the first ten minutes mostly thanks to Tomas Satoransky's efforts, who had 7 points in the quarter.

In the second quarter, Lithuania did not manage to get any closer and had a 13-point deficit after the first half.

Czech Republic was led by the new FC Barcelona signing, Tomas Satoransky who had 21 points (4/8 2PT, 2/2 3PT, 7/7 FT), 4 assists, 3 rebounds, and 6 turnovers.
