After an avalanche of announcements and signings, Panathinaikos OPAP Athens bid farewell to Jeremy Evans and Okaro White, who were part of the 2021-22 roster.
One day after captain Ioannis Papapetrou was released on mutual consent, the Greens let go of the two American forwards, who were not in Dejan Radonjic's plans for next season and will look for the next stop in their careers.
34-year-old Evans was a free agent anyway, since his contract had expired. 29-year-old Okaro White had a team option in his two-year deal with the Greek side, which Panathinaikos chose not to activate.
White, in his second stint in Greece after his maiden season with Aris in 2015-16, averaged 8.4 points and 3.7 rebounds in 29 EuroLeague games and 23 minutes of action and 11.5 points, 5.3 rebounds in 32 Greek Basket League games, while Evans' numbers and playing time were lower: 5.5 points, 3.0 rebounds in 16 minutes and in 32 EuroLeague games, in addition to 6.8 points- 4.3 rebounds in 28 domestic league outings.
So far, Panathinaikos have announced Paris Lee, Giorgos Kalaitzakis, Marius Grigonis, Nate Walters, Andrew Andrews and Derrick Williams, while being on the lookout for the players who are going to take up the remaining roster spots.
