Virtus Segafredo Bologna announced that they have acquired the rights to Croatian forward Leo Menalo. Menalo, who last played with from Stella Azzurra Rome, has signed a four-year contract with the EuroCup champs, valid until 30 June 2026.
Menalo was born in Split on January 6, 2002. The 206-cm winger began his career in the youth teams of KK Cibona. The Croatian player has spent four years playing in Italy, starting from the 2018-19 season with Stella Azzurra.
Subsequently he played for three consecutive seasons in the second division, between Roseto and Stella Azzurra. In his last season in the capital, he averaged 5.0 points, almost 4.0 rebounds and 1.0 assist per game in 16 minutes.
Considered one of the top European prospects born in 2002, Menalo comes off the FIBA Under-20 European Championship, where he averaged 14.0 points, 4.4 rebounds, 62% from two and 40% from three.
