Turkey cuts down its preliminary roster to 16 players

With first friendly matches around the corner for several national teams, Turkey announced the departure of three players.

Berk Ugurlu, Egehan Arna, and Kartal Ozmizrak are set to leave the national team following just a bit more than a week of training.

The Turkish national team is now cut down to 16 players. The first friendly match of the preparatory cycle is scheduled for tomorrow against Ukraine.

It will be the first of three matchups in a friendly tournament in Istanbul in the following three days. The team is set to face Slovenia and Poland on August 12th and August 13th respectively.

Turkey is placed in Group A of EuroBasket 2022 together with Belgium, Bulgaria, Spain, Georgia, and Montenegro. Before the tournament, Turkey will face off against Latvia and Serbia in the 2023 FIBA World Cup Qualifiers on August 25th and August 28th.
