With the NBA season starting in two months, the league is expected to announce the regular season schedule next week. However, some things have already been reported of the key matches that are going to happen.

According to journalist Marc Stein, the league has planned a Luka Doncic-led Dallas Mavericks and LeBron James' Los Angeles Lakers matchup for Christmas Day.

It will be only the 6th Christmas Day match for the Mavericks in the club's history with 2 of them coming in the Luka Doncic era. The storied Lakers franchise has participated in 48 such matches thus far.

The two teams have already played against each other on Christmas Day two years ago on December 25th, 2020. The Lakers dominated the matchup, finishing with a convincing 128-115 win. The Slovenian superstar scored 27 points, grabbed 4 rebounds, and dished out 7 assists, while LeBron was near a triple-double with 22 points, 7 rebounds, and 10 assists.

Memphis Grizzlies and Charlotte Hornets are the only organizations that have not played a single Christmas Day game in NBA history.
