The Bosnia and Herzegovina saga is officially over. The Balkan country's national team will receive the required funds to participate both in the 2023 FIBA World Cup Qualifiers and EuroBasket 2022.

Bosnia and Herzegovina's Council of Ministers held an extraordinary session yesterday where it was decided that the government was going to help the basketball federation. The Council approved funds from the current budget reserve to fulfil the national teams' obligations this summer.

The federation will be granted assistance of around 200,000 Convertible Mark (~€100,000) for financing the preparation and purchase of plane tickets for both the men's and women's national teams in EuroBasket 2022 and FIBA Women's World Cup 2022 respectively.

"I have no doubts about our quality, the only important thing is whether we get there," the biggest star of the men's national team, Jusuf Nurkic, said last week. On the women's side, it will be the first time in the country's history that a women's national team will participate in the World Cup.

Bosnia and Herzegovina is placed in Group B in EuroBasket together with France, Lithuania, Slovenia, Germany, and Hungary. The team is scheduled to face France and Montenegro in the World Cup Qualifiers later in August.
