The projected No. 1 pick in the 2023 NBA draft, Victor Wembanyama, sees similarities between himself and NBA superstars.
In an interview during the Ax Euro Tour -- a set of exhibition games in Paris with LeBron James' sons, Bronny and Bryce James -- broadcast on ESPN, the reporter asked Wembanyama how he views his game.
The 18-year-old talent compared himself to Giannis Antetokounmpo and Kevin Durant. He also found parallels on the defensive end with fellow Frenchman Rudy Gobert.

"I would hate that my game resembles only one player. I think that wouldn't be ambitious enough. But the closest, if I got to pick two, I'd say Giannis and KD. Those are my two favorite players," Wembanyama said.
The journalist then asked about Gobert and the prospect delivered the following answer.
"Yes, Rudy Gobert in defense. I wanna be the best ever in some field."
Wembanyama signed a contract with Metropolitans 92 Paris this offseason. He moved to his new team from Tony Parker's ASVEL Villeurbanne where Wembanyama spent the last season.
The 2.20-meter (7 ft 3 in) athlete produced 6.5 points and 3.8 rebounds in 13 EuroLeague matches this past season.
Wembanyama averaged 9.4 points (47.3% FG, 26.0% 3PT) and 5.1 rebounds over 18 minutes in the French League. The NBA prospect was voted as the French League's Rising Star for the second consecutive season.
