France and Slovenia are the favorites to win the upcoming EuroBasket, while Luka Doncic is the frontrunner for the MVP award.

That's at least what FIBA EuroBasket 2022 accredited media think, according to the survey conducted by FIBA's website a few days prior to the big event. The vast majority of the respondents comes from Europe, but there are some also from other continents and the deadline to submit answers was August 22.

France and Slovenia tied for first place in the question 'who wins the title?', while for the first time in nearly two decades, Spain are not considered to be among the favorites.

Furthermore, media representatives go with Luka Doncic all the way. The Slovenian star has been voted as the player most likely to claim tournament MVP honors and the top scorer award, in addition to him being projected as the assists leader.

The Mavs guard is also the player, upon whom most journalists would place their bets if the game was on the line, in order to take (and make) the last shot. That's quite a lot.

Another important find of this survey is that Greece's coach Dimitris Itoudis is considered the top tactician in this tournament, outvoting Serbia's Svetislav Pesic.

The level of disrespect for Giannis is not only in NBA but in Europe, it seems. In the US they can't accept that a player other than American can be so deeply superior to US players, in Europe journalists even in his own country, when they talk about the best European players they talk about Doncic and Jokic, as if Antetokounmpo is not European. Yes, he is not white, and he does not have a European surname, but he was born and grew up in Greece, so he is European. He is the greatest European player at the moment. The only one currently playing that is an NBA champion, who scored 50 points on the last final game. He is a beast on offence and defence and is constantly improving. He has won two MVP awards, an NBA finals MVP, he has been a NBA defencive player and constantly on top defendors on the NBA and yet, Doncic is supposed to be superior. I guess, Doncic looks so much more European. He is white, he is blonde, he is Aryan. But he ain't the best European player. The best European player is the son of illegal immigrants. He is Greek and he is black. Get used to it!
