Wizards forward Deni Avdija will travel with Israel to Prague for the EuroBasket group stage, in contrast to Maccabi point guard John Dibartolomeo, who was left out by coach Guy Goodes.
The Israeli national team will take off for Prague on Wednesday in order to participate in their EuroBasket group stage.
Team members will head straight from the airport to the first practice in the huge hall on the outskirts of the city.
The team's first task will be to advance to the second stage which will take place in Berlin. To do that, they need to finish in the top four in a group that includes Finland, the Netherlands, Poland, Serbia, and the host Czech Republic.
Israel / Schedule
Israel's group intersects with the one held in Milan where Greece, Italy, Ukraine, Estonia, Great Britain and Croatia play. Hundreds of Israelis will accompany the team in Prague and in the first game they will meet several thousand Finns, the team that brings more crowds than any other team to away games.
The final squad for the European Championship and the full delegation includes Washington Wizards forward Deni Avdija, Andorra guard Gal Mekel and Partizan Belgrade guard Yam Madar. The rest of the squad is compiled by Tamir Blatt, Yovel Zoosman, Guy Pnini, Rafi Menco, Nimrod Levi, Tomer Ginat, Jake Cohen, Roman Sorkin and Idan Zalmanson.
On the other hand, Maccabi point guard John Dibartolomeo was left out by coach Guy Goodes.
