Doncic scored 27 of the first 36 Slovenian points against France.

He was on his way to beating Giannis Antetokounmpo EuroBasket 2022 points record (41 vs. Ukraine).

That was not the only injury concern for the Slovenian head coach Aleksander Sekulic.

His starting center Mike Tobey didn't suit up for the game due to an awkward ankle sprain in the game vs. Germany.

However, Doncic returned to the floor just before the start of the third quarter.

Later in the third quarter, Doncic had to leave the court due to a minor finger injury.

He returned again and finally snapped Giannis' record by scoring 42 with 7:17 to play in the fourth quarter.
