In the Eurobasket 2022 round of 16, Luka Doncic and the Slovenian national team defeated Belgium with a final score of 88-72 (24-19, 20-22, 19-19, 25-12), which put up a good fight against the defending EuroBasket champions for 3 quarters.

Doncic led the Slovenians to the quarterfinals with a performance of 35 points (7/15 2PT, 4/10 3PT, 9/10 FT), 5 rebounds, 5 assists, and 4 steals for 33 EFF.

Belgium had an over 5-minute scoring drought in the fourth quarter, which allowed Slovenia to make a run of 15-0 to get a 15-point advantage (80-65) with 4:11 left in the fourth quarter and seal the game.

Even though Slovenia won the game and advanced, they might have lost one of their key players in Zoran Dragic, who got injured in the second quarter, left the floor and did not return for the rest of the game.

Belgium was led by Emmanuel Lecomte, who finished with 16 points (6/11 2PT, 1/2 3PT, 1/1 FT), 4 rebounds, and 2 assists for 16 EFF.
