The German national team advanced to the quarterfinals of the EuroBasket 2022 after holding off Montenegro's comeback and winning with a final score of 85-79 (19-10, 29-14, 19-26, 18-29).

Germany had a 24-point lead after the first half, but Montenegro did not give up and mounted a comeback in the second half.  In the end, it was not enough, as the Germans held off against Montenegro's incredible comeback.

Maodo Lo sank both free throws with 24 seconds left in the fourth quarter to give the Germans a 5-point lead (82-77), right after that Dennis Shroder drew an offensive foul on Igor Drobnjak, which resulted in Montenegro's head coach's strong reaction and a technical foul, which killed Montenegro's chances to win the game entirely.
