Lithuania (2-3) finished only fourth in Group B to advance to the round of 16.
After losing their first 3 games against Slovenia, France, and Germany, Lithuania defeated Hungary and Bosnia and Herzegovina to advance fro the group of death.
Meanwhile, Spain (4-1) topped group A by defeating Bulgaria, Georgia, Montenegro and Turkey and lost only to Belgium.

It is worth noting that Lithuania defeated Spain twice in their preparation games in August before the EuroBasket.
The winner of this pair will meet either Finland or Croatia in the quarter-finals.
