After an eventful quarterfinal round of EuroBasket 2022, the semifinal round begins.

Underdogs gained the upper hand in half of the matchups in the earlier round, meaning that the big trio of Giannis Antetokounmpo, Nikola Jokic, and Luka Doncic are all set to miss the biggest matches of the tournament.

Mateusz Ponitka registered just the fourth triple-double in EuroBasket history with 26 points, 16 rebounds, and 10 assists against Slovenia. After delivering an upset of the tournament, Poland will battle against France to start the day on Friday (17:15 CET).

France, on their end, looked like they were eliminated but Simone Fontecchio missed two clutch free throws and Vincent Collet's men ultimately took the win in overtime, just like they did in the Round of 16 against Turkey.

Will the Cinderella story continue or will Lady Fortune favor the French once again?

Poland 54:95 France
