Basketball is king: More than 50% of Lithuania watched EuroBasket 2022

1.53 million people watched EuroBasket 2022 in Lithuania, which amounts to around 56.7% of the entire population of the country. More than 300,000 watched the tournament online.

Even though the Lithuanian national team's journey in EuroBasket 2022 ended pretty soon, Lithuanian fans once again proved that they are among the best in the continent.

The official broadcaster of the tournament, TV3 Group, has announced that nearly 60% of all Lithuanian citizens have watched the EuroBasket, while the spectators watched the tournament even when their favorite team was no longer there.

1.53 million people watched EuroBasket 2022, the statement announces. Knowing that the population of the entire country is close to 2.7 million, it estimates to be around 56.7% of all people living in Lithuania. At the same time, more than 300 thousand people (~11%) watched the tournament online.

Almost 670 thousand viewers (~24.8%) watched the Round of 16 match between Lithuania and Spain where Sergio Scariolo's team defeated the favorites of the matchup in overtime.

EuroBasket 2022 averaged 621 thousand viewers per day while the final between France and Spain was watched by almost half a million of spectators.
