The Brooklyn Nets forward Ben Simmons said he will have to shoot 3-pointers in the next NBA season with his new team.
The Brooklyn Nets star forward Ben Simmons' inability to shoot from the 3-point range was a discussion for years now.
Simmons revealed he will try to shoot 3-pointers this upcoming season when asked on The Old Man and The Three podcast with JJ Redick.
When JJ Redick asked Simmons whether he will shoot some threes next season, Simmons took a moment to process the question but then answered in good spirits and with a smile.
"Yeah, I need to. I'm going to out there and put some up," said Simmons.
In his career, the 3-time NBA All-Star, Simmons has attempted 34 3-pointers and hit 5 of them, which results in 14%.
Simmons did not play a single game in the 2021-22 NBA season. He was traded from the Philadelphia 76ers to the Nets but did not play for either of the teams the previous season.
Throughout his career, two-time NBA All-Defensive First Team selection Simmons averaged 15.9 points, 8.1 rebounds, and 7.7 assists per game.
