Real Madrid are looking to reinforce their short guard rotation. With Nigel Williams-Goss being sidelined and Sergio Llull turning 35 in a month, the 2022 EuroLeague finalists need one more player.

According to the news of Mate Al Aro, Los Blancos are close to signing point guard Shannon Evans. Per the same report, the Spanish giants offered the experienced player a 2-year contract at 1.2 million euros per season.

Shannon Evans, 28, has never played in the EuroLeague before. He's currently playing with Coosur Real Betis Seville in the ACB, with whom he averaged 17.4 points, 3.0 rebounds and 6.8 assists last season. On Saturday evening, his side fell to hosts Fuenlabrada in Madrid (77-83), where Evans scored 28 points on 9/22 from the field, 6/7 free throws, 5 rebounds, and 9 assists.

Asked about the player's potential transfer to Madrid, Betis' coach Luis Casimiro admitted to having "no idea."

"Is anything that comes out on Twitter news already?" the Spanish coach wondered.

"Is he negotiating with Real Madrid? I don't think so. His agent says no, but let's wait," Casimiro added.

Real Madrid, who started the season with the Spanish Super Cup title, are 1-1 in EuroLeague after beating Panathinaikos in Athens and losing to FC Barcelona away.
