The Denver Nuggets will meet against the New York Knicks on Wednesday night. However, they will have to do it without their biggest star Nikola Jokic.

The Serbian center has entered the league's health and safety protocols and will have to miss the game. Nuggets' Nah'Shon Hyland is also in the protocols.

In order to return to action, both players will have to be cleared under NBA guidelines. Players can automatically exit the protocol.

This season, players are no longer regularly tested for COVID-19. However, they have to be checked when they exhibit symptoms, or any of their relatives are diagnosed with the virus. Entering the protocols does not automatically mean that the player has the virus.

Jokic is currently averaging 20.8 points, 9.5 rebounds, and 8.9 assists per game.

With a record of 9-4, the Nuggets are currently second in the Western Conference.
