The ABA League match between Crvena Zvezda mts Belgrade and Partizan Mozzart Bet Belgrade was stopped for more than half an hour following an episode after which the home team fans went berserk.

With just over half a minute left in the first quarter, Zvezda's guard Nikola Ivanovic had the ball in his hands. After overcoming Vladimir Brodziansky's defense, Ivanovic drove to the basket where he met Zach LeDay.

Even though Ivanovic made the floater, he was called for an offensive foul against the Partizan forward.

After releasing the shot, Ivanovic awkwardly landed on top of LeDay's knee, twisting his back. The guard was immediately seen grimacing in pain.

Ivanovic was later helped to the locker room by the medical staff.

The episode sparked an immediate reaction from Crvena Zvezda fans who started throwing various objects onto the court, ultimately forcing referees to leave the game, which led to the game being interrupted.

When the game restarted after Tribune B was cleared, Ivanovic did not return to the bench. Head coach Dusko Ivanovic later revealed that the guard has a broken rib.

Interestingly, when the referees came back to the court, the initial call was reversed from an offensive foul to a defensive foul, and Ivanovic's made floater was counted. Luca Vildoza converted the ensuing free throw since Ivanovic could not continue to play.

After the match, head coach Dusko Ivanovic did not have great news about the player's health.

"Nikola fell awkwardly, we think one of his ribs is broken," the Montenegrin specialist said. "I believe he won't be here for a month, a month and a half. I'm very sorry, he played well."
