FC Barcelona point guard Nicolas Laprovittola reacted to the news that Dallas Mavericks cut his countryman Facundo Campazzo.

In a conversation with Sergio Vegas, Campazzo said that he's upset with the whole situation and added that the NBA doesn't seem like a good destination for Argentinians.

"For me, the NBA is playing in the EuroLeague," Laprovittola told Vegas. "I do not watch NBA, I got upset after what happened with Luca [Vildoza], Facu [Campazzo], and Gaby [Deck]. It is not a good destination for us."

"It's a pity that in Argentina, playing in the EuroLeague is not as valued as [playing] in the NBA. Euroleague is so tough. You need to play hard. The physicality is extreme," Laprovittola continued.

He also remembered fun times with Campazzo, recalling the times when they used to compete in practices.

"The player whom I fought on the court the most was Facu [Campazzo]. Even in practices. We compete for the same position. He has been the more of mother******," Laprovittola said, laughing.

On a personal level, Laprovittola is having the best career season so far. The 32-year-old averages 14.6 points, 2.1 rebounds, 4.6 assists, and 14.4 PIR over 10 EuroLeague games.

"I do not feel like I'm the best player on the team," Laprovittola remained humble. "Everyone has his role. I've learned a lot from the tough moments I experienced in the past when I did not have many opportunities."

"I try not to lack confidence in my game. My family always has been next to me. When I began to play basketball, I never imagined I would be playing as a shooting guard more than a point guard. Fortunately, my teammates trust me. I have always tried to be a good person, and life is giving it back to me," added the Argentinian guard.

Laprovittola also revealed that he feels more mature, which helps him on the court.

"I feel more mature in this stage of my career. All the coaches want players who always react to their demands. This is what I try. I used to hear that I would not be able to play in big teams. This is my fourth season in Real Madrid and FC Barcelona. I feel great on the court, I have fun," Laprovittola said.

Laprovittola also praised his head coach Sarunas Jasikevicius, explaining what it's like to work with the Lithuanian tactician.

"Jasikevicius gives me a lot of confidence. I really appreciate it. He wants you to react, to do your best on the court. He is the coach I need in my career right now. He pushed me. I really enjoy having him as a head coach. He looks at every detail," Laprovittola revealed.

"I have had a lot of coaches in my career. Popovich, Laso, Jasikevicius... Also, in Argentina and Brazil. I'm grateful for all of this. I have learned from each one," he added.

Another thing that makes Laprovittola happy is his increased role in Barcelona and the importance he feels inside the team.

"When I came to Barcelona, I could never imagine having some systems for me like Kuric does or to be the first option to end a quarter. I have earned respect in the club of my teammates. This is a process, and I am enjoying it," Laprovittola admitted.

Finally, the Argentinian guard recalled the last season. After dominating in the regular season, Barcelona lost in the EuroLeague semifinal and Spanish ACB final against Real Madrid.

"Last year, we were the best team in the regular season, both in Europe and in Spain. But we could not win it in the end. We felt sad. It was a bitter way to end the season. A lot of things changed during the summer. Not only with newcomers but also with some equipment for us, the trips... The journey was great, but the important thing is to be ready for May," Laprovittola concluded.
