During a stoppage in play with 3.9 seconds left in the first quarter of the Los Angeles Lakers' 133-129 win over the Milwaukee Bucks on Friday night at Fiserv Forum, Russell Westbrook got into a heated verbal confrontation with a fan seated courtside.

Jorge Sedano reported on the ESPN broadcast in the second quarter that security at Fiserv Forum briefly pulled the fan away and asked him about the interaction with Westbrook.

The player reportedly claimed that there was a "profanity-laced interaction" with that particular fan, which the fan disputed. Instead of being ejected, the fan was given a warning and told not to get involved for the remainder of the game.

According to WDJT-TV (Channel 58), the fan was initially escorted away from his seat but was eventually allowed to return to it.

"We don't have to talk about it," Westbrook said postgame.

"I'll figure it out with the league. Just respect for the game. Sometimes, obviously, things get said throughout the game and just being respectful is the thing I stand on.

I don't mind people coming to the game and heckling and different things, but there's a certain line you don't cross and I feel like it crossed it. I'll handle it and move forward."

Westbrook has had several volatile interactions with fans in the past, from a Philadelphia fan getting ejected for making obscene gestures at him in 2016, a Utah fan being ejected and banned from future Jazz games in 2019 for using racist language to another 76ers fan dumping popcorn on him in 2021.
