The upcoming week for Real Madrid will be challenging on and off the court.

Marca's journalist Nacho Duke calculated that Los Blancos will travel 8728 kilometers this week.

The journey began on Monday when Real Madrid traveled to Munich ahead of the game against FC Bayern Munich. It lasted 1484.8 kilometers.

Shortly after that awaits the 1133.9 kilometers trip to Kaunas, where on Thursday, Real Madrid will play their second EuroLeague game of the week against Zalgiris.

After the Zalgiris game, Real Madrid will face the longest trip to Tenerife (4358.2 kilometers). Los Blancos will play Lenovo Tenerife in the ACB game on Sunday.

Finally, Real will head to Madrid, adding another 1751.1 kilometers to their weekly trip, totaling the whole journey to 8728 kilometers.

Real Madrid weekly trip:

  • Madrid-Munich – 1484.8 km
  • Munich-Kaunas – 1139.9 km
  • Kaunas-Tenerife – 4358.2 km
  • Tenerife-Madrid – 1751.1 km
  • Total: 8728 km

Sergio Llull was especially unhappy seeing such numbers, claiming that such situations shouldn't be happening.

"The person who makes the calendar has either never played basketball or does it with his eyes closed," Llull told Onda Madrid.

However, Real Madrid head coach Chus Mateo reacted in a calmer manner.

"We are not looking for excuses," Mateo said before the trip. "We are not complaining about the injuries and schedule. It is what it is, the players give their maximum. However, it's impossible to be in the best physical shape throughout all season."

Real Madrid will face the double-round week without Gabriel Deck, Rudy Fernandez, and Adam Hanga, who are recovering from injuries. However, the good news is Walter Tavares will be available.
