A devastating Kahramanmaras earthquake in Turkey already took more than 9,000 people lives, while Turkish and European basketball communities shared their support for the victims.

Among the victims, there's Frutti Extra Bursaspor Ahmet Duverioglu's grandmother. Meanwhile, Duverioglu's cousin Nilay Aydogan remains under the rubble.

Aydogan is Turkey's national team player. She competed in FIBA 3x3 competitions.

"It is with great sadness we announce that the precious grandmother of our athlete Ahmet Duverioglu passed away after the earthquake in Malatya. We hope that his cousin Nilay Aydoğan, who is still under the rubble, will be rescued as soon as possible," Bursaspor shared in a press release.

"We wish Ahmet Duverioglu and his family courage and peace during this time. Our hearts go out to you and everyone affected by the disaster at this time," added the EuroCup.

On Tuesday, Turk Telekom played EuroCup away game against Dolomiti Energia Trento. Before the game, both teams took a moment of silence.

Meanwhile, Anadolu Efes Istanbul star Shane Larkin is also among the people who try his best to help people. Larkin encouraged to donate to Shane Larkin Foundation, as all donations will be distributed to the official earthquake relief initiatives.

"You probably already heard or saw the tragedies that happen in Eastern Turkey," Larkin said in his message. "Right now, many people are going through really difficult times and tough situations. I feel like the best thing we could do during such times is coming together."

"Many of us can't be there in person, but many of us want to. So, I want to announce that any donations made to Shane Larkin Foundation will be sent directly to earthquake relief initiatives and organizations. It could help people to go through this very difficult time.

It is a huge tragedy, but if we stick together and stay strong, I know that we can go through this. Let's continue to keep these people in our prayers and try to do some good," Larkin continued.
